Yashinon-DX 50mm f/2

Analogue B&W film
It's all metal and are very solid and well built.
The feel of this is also very good.
The image quality of this lens reminds me a little of the popular Helios-44 series.
Can give a nice vintage looking images but also some great quality.
Wide open has okay center sharpness but not that great corners.
The focal plane is also a bit curved which gives some corner softness at infinity.
It's also gives a ton of flare in both direct or backlight conditions.
But some see that as a positive thing so that is not always a bad thing.
What you do get is some nice bokeh and I find it to render well.
Stop it down a step or two and you can get some very nice quality pictures.
Should also add that this like some other older Yashica M42 lenses is not compatible with all M42 SLRs.
The problem is that the back lens element goes a little closer to the camera's mirror than most other M42 lenses do.
This can result in some cameras mirror to hit the back of the lens when focused to infinity.
It did have this problem when I tried to use this on my Chinon CEII Memotron.
But have never had any problems with Yashicas own M42 SLRs or a Digital cropped sensor camera.
Image quality (mostly after stopping down a stop or two)
Renders / Bokeh
Soft corners wide open
Flare / Backlight (for those that don't wants a ton of that)
Can't be used with all M42 SLRs
